Elder scrolls skyrim why is it rated m
Violence - When you hit enemies sometimes blood spurts out. There is no torture at all. People talk of executions, there is 1 but all you see is a person being captured and told he will be executed.
He does not beg, scream, shout or cry when he hears this. Nothing much with the violence. There are festivals and feasts where half naked women dance but kids below the age of 9 see this on TV. Language - None.
Drinking, drugs, smoking - There are Skyrim drugs called Skooma which you see around the place. There is drinking but kids will see this all the time.
Over all - If you have a child who is mature and over the age of 10 then this is fine! It is a brilliant game too. Teen, 13 years old Written by BoundBird September 21, This title contains: Positive Messages. Kid, 12 years old September 3, Not that bad. The violence isn't shoved in your face and can be ignored, it's typical violence in an rpg that isn't exaggerated at all. If you kid is mature enough or is a teenager they should be fine.
The story is about you being the Dragonborn, who is a human with the soul of a dragon. Swearing is also minimal. Teen, 15 years old Written by Anon July 4, Great game its good. This game is the best!!! Good stuff: The fighting gameplay is so fun, great storyline, Crafting system is realy cool, plus there is something called "skyrim play together" were you can well Bad stuff not a lot of it : some swearing, only one curse word said in the ENTIRE game, tiny bit of sexual content, skyrim play together is little glitchy in the normal version.
Teen, 13 years old Written by joshuabonifac June 13, Teen, 15 years old Written by awugua June 8, Teen, 13 years old Written by Attxus June 1, There is one scene that might be a issue for some families. A person gets beheaded for his crimes. But rember this game takes place during mideval times.
Nords are racist expecialy towards dark elves. There are assignations, and you can sacrifice people to Gods. You can learn about money and saving it, and also you can learn about medivail times. Like how people lived and how areas looked. There is a lot of diversity like in real world, and you can learn about resource management and there are mods modifications to the game.
You could definitely let your kids play at Teen, 13 years old Written by lindaisdisturbing May 7, I'm a pretty hardcore player of Skyrim like I've been playing over a year and often and I gotta tell you guys that this is probably one of the best video games of all time. But I actually have to give information about the game so. Some people will say it's really bad, others will say it's nonexistent.
But me, an actual, real Skyrim player will tell you this. It's honestly kind of funny. The graphics are pretty awful gore wise I mean, there's beheading, sword slashes, stabbing, and all that jazz, but the graphics are so bad in that sense that it almost seems comedic.
A lot of the creatures you fight aren't even human trolls, dragons, wolves, etc. Also, if you walk into some bandit, forsworn, and silverhand all bad dudes camps there might be a head or two on a pike again the graphics of the gore is pretty bad so it's rather comedic plus some bloody bones and rags. You can get married no sex or kissing whatsoever and there are some obscure sus things an erotic book called The Lusty Argonian Maid that'll go over most kids' heads, and one mission in Riften involving a woman sleeping with a few guys, and there's a letter in Haelga's Bunkhouse in Riften that's describes one of the women's encounters, but not in great detail, and it's rather comedic.
Some very occasional sexual references two people in the Thieves' Guild mention some things like this. A women called Sapphire implies being raped, an ex-bandit dude says something like 'all the women I could bed', a man in the Thalmor Embassy says something like 'not that anyone would ever sleep with her', referring to a woman, but it's easy to miss unless you linger beside him.
If you take off whatever a body is wearing, they will either appear in a loincloth, for men, or a bikini, for women. You can also do this with your character. Language: Rather mild. Uses of 'damn' and 'ass' aren't even all that common. No f-bombs. Substances: There are two implied drugs skooma and moonsugar but again, these are rather implied. There is usually at least one drunk in every village.

And thats only if you strip people of their armor or clothes otherwise its just a violent game.

Oblivion had wine and things like that, although you'd think a drink called Cyrodillic Brandy would count as alcohol. Although now that I think about it, Morrowind came out before the Hot Coffee fiasco and Oblivion after, so that probably explains why Morrowind's rating was a bit lax.
User Info: metroidman Considering how many kids play Halo and CoD, they don't really seem to be doing their jobs. Granted, it may seem that way to me since I haven't had to worry about ratings in nearly 5 years.
And my parents knew I was mature enough to handle M games even at So my view may be a tad biased. The first video game I ever played was Turok. Thanks again, Dad. From: metroidman92 I can't believe they're still relevant these days. Their job is to inform people of the content of the game.
Kids are like that anyway. Actually, the kids that don't play violent video games, read violent books, watch violent movies, etc. So they take it out on the people around them. I mean, people are going to get angry and violent no matter what, but having a place to let it all out is quite comforting. Maybe it is no surprise that gun related homicides have been on the decline ever since Not overly gory or bloody. Anyone under probably wouldn't know what's going on or care, so I'm fairly sure this would end up being a purchase for the 12 year old only.
I'm 13 and definitely played worse, so I'd say the violence isn't really that big of a deal. There's been much more disturbing things on the news.
Great game in a breathtaking world with some occasional heavy, and brutal violence. I've only heard one curse word. Sign up to join this community. The best answers are voted up and rise to the top. Stack Overflow for Teams — Collaborate and share knowledge with a private group.
